BlueMatrix has announced a partnership with Perplexity to deliver AI-assisted discovery for approved institutional research, integrating Perplexity’s precision-focused tools with BlueMatrix’s regulated, entitlement-aware framework used by brokerages and asset managers. The companies stated that an initial pilot will enable buy-side teams to ask questions in natural language and receive cited responses rooted in the research they’re authorized to access.

BlueMatrix CEO Patricia Horotan mentioned that the aim is to help clients benefit from AI “while maintaining attributions, control, and flexibility.” Dmitry Shevelenko, Chief Business Officer at Perplexity, indicated that the collaboration demonstrates how AI-powered search can improve access to authorized research content within the regulatory standards financial institutions demand.

Originally established as a capital-markets content platform and supported by Thoma Bravo, BlueMatrix views the partnership as expanding its compliance-first approach into AI workflows for research providers and their buy-side clients.
