Managing projects and workflows within an organization often involves many tools and platforms. Asana offers numerous integrations and different ways to export data so it can be transferred to another tool such as Excel.

To transfer data from Asana to Excel, start by exporting the data in CSV format. Follow these steps:

  • Log into your Asana account and open the project you want to export.

  • Access the project action menu.

  • In the drop-down menu, hover over “Export/Print”.

  • Select CSV.

After exporting to a CSV file, import that project into Excel by following these steps:

  • Open an Excel spreadsheet.

  • Under the Data tab, choose “From text”.

  • Select the CSV file and click on import.

This is a simple way to export your data from Asana to Excel if needed. In addition to exporting data from Asana, you can attach Excel files to Asana tasks and projects using the paperclip icon on the task or by adding them to the project overview.
