What is G-Cloud 15?
G-Cloud is the UK government's framework for buying cloud software, hosting and support. It began in 2012. G-Cloud 15 (RM1557.15) launched in August 2026 and is run by the Government Commercial Agency (GCA), which replaced the Crown Commercial Service on 1 April 2026.
G-Cloud 15 is the largest upgrade in the framework's history. It brings three earlier frameworks into one agreement and has five lots:
Lot 1a and 1b: infrastructure and platform as a service (IaaS and PaaS)
Lot 2a: infrastructure software as a service
Lot 2b: other software as a service (SaaS)
Lot 3: cloud support services
Generation Digital is live in SaaS (our licences) and Cloud Support (our AI services).
Licences and AI transformation services in one place
Most public sector bodies don't just need an AI licence. They need to choose the right tool, connect it to their data safely, set up governance and train their people. On G-Cloud 15, Generation Digital offers both halves.

Quick, easy and frictionless: why G-Cloud 15 is the fastest way to buy AI
A traditional public sector tender for a new technology can take months. G-Cloud 15 removes most of that work. Every supplier has already passed government checks on finances, security and compliance. Every service has a published service definition, pricing document and terms. The contract is a standard government call-off contract, so legal teams don't start from a blank page.
For straightforward needs, buyers can use award without competition: if one catalogue service meets the requirement, they can award it on lowest price without running their own competition. For larger or more complex needs, they can run a short competitive selection between catalogue suppliers. Call-off contracts can run for up to 60 months.
In practice, a buyer can go from shortlist to signed contract for Claude, Canva or Asana, plus the rollout and training to go with it, without a full tender. And because all of it is contracted through Generation Digital, they deal with one supplier, one contract and one invoice.
Secure and compliant by design
Speed only matters if the purchase is safe. G-Cloud 15 is an open framework under the Procurement Act 2023, so buying through it is compliant by default. Our listings include the security, data protection and data location detail that information governance teams need.
On top of the licence, our services make AI safe to use: an AI readiness assessment, governance and responsible AI frameworks, single sign-on and admin controls, and role-based training. This is where most AI programmes succeed or fail. Licences give people access. Value comes when people change how they work.
The value of G-Cloud 15: a £14 billion public sector market
G-Cloud is one of the largest technology buying routes in the UK public sector:
Framework value: G-Cloud 15 is expected to handle about £14 billion of spend over four years, about £3 billion a year (Government Commercial Agency, August 2026).
Recent spend: G-Cloud 14 handled £3.1 billion in 2023–24. In 2025–26, G-Cloud spend was £2.92 billion (TechMarketView).
Shift to smaller suppliers: in 2025–26, G-Cloud spend with SMEs grew 9.7%, while spend with large suppliers fell 10.2% (TechMarketView). About 90% of G-Cloud suppliers are SMEs.
Wider market: the UK public sector spent an estimated £6 billion on public cloud in 2024 (DSIT and GDS, via PublicTechnology).
Breadth of buyers: the government's central buying agency serves more than 19,000 public sector customers, and £33 billion of public sector spend went through its agreements in 2024–25 (CCS Annual Report 2024–25).
Who can buy through G-Cloud 15? The framework is open to:
Central government: departments, agencies and arm's-length bodies
Local government: county, district, unitary and metropolitan councils
Health: NHS trusts, integrated care boards and other health bodies
Education: universities, colleges, academies and schools
Blue light services: police, fire, ambulance, and search and rescue
Devolved administrations: Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
Charities and British overseas territories
For Generation Digital, G-Cloud 15 is a single, pre-approved route into all of these organisations. Our 79 listings cover both the AI platforms and the services that make them work, so we can serve a buyer from the first readiness assessment to an enterprise-wide rollout.
